New “Shared Lane” Marks for 18th Street NW

DDOT has informed the ANC that they will be installing so-called “shared lane” markings on 18th Street from Massachusetts Ave NW up to Florida Ave NW — which includes our Single Member District.  The markings are painted on the road and show that bicycles also share the car lane.  They look similar to bike lane markings, but are much wider.  Look for them to appear shortly on 18th Street NW.
